What to Expect
Do you have programs for Children?
Absolutely we do!
1st - 5th Grade
On Sunday, children's programs are offered during both services. We call it KidZone!
During KidZone, your children will participate in praise and worship time, relevant lessons, exciting games, crafts, and a light snack. We encourage you to drop your children off at the KidZone room 5-10 minutes before the service starts to make sure you can check them in and not be late to "Big Church." We will also escort your children to and from Sunday School to the KidZone room which means you will always drop them off and pick them up at the KidZone room! The KidZone room is on the upper floor of our Family Life Center. You can come through the glass doors at the upper parking lot if you'd like or come through the gym area of our Family Life Center and take the stairs.
Babies - 5 Years Old
Preschool and Nursery care is provided for both the Contemporary and Traditional services! Children ages ages 3-5 will take part in Praise and Play where we want to start teaching them about our Lord in relevant and fun ways. At 9:45 we do Sunday School for our Preschoolers, caring for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs through Bible stories, crafts, and activities. Classes are provided for all ages and preschoolers are placed in classrooms by birthday.
We take the safety and security of your child very seriously. That is why FBC Pinson has a state of the art check in system for children used during all Children's Minsitry activities. As you check your child into KidZone or the Nursery/Preschool, a nametag and a security sticker will be printed. That means the only person who can pick your child up is you! If this is your first visit with us, we encourage you to arrive a couple minutes early to get registered in our system.
What should I wear?
Really, anything you like. You're invited to come as you are, whether it's a suit or shorts. We suggest something comfortable...since that's what we'll be wearing! Our attenders of the Contemporary Service at 8:30 tend to dress more casually (shorts, flip flops, etc.) and attenders of the Traditional Service at 11:00 tend to dress up more (some suits, ties, collared shirts). Most importantly, know that what you wear is the least important thing about our gatherings!
When should I arrive?
It's always a good idea to arrive a little early to get situated, meet our friendly members and prepare yourself for worship. Our Contemporary Service is at 8:30am and our Traditional Service is at 11:00am. In between our service is Sunday School from 9:45-10:45am.
You still do Sunday School?
Yes! It might not be exactly what you're thinking though. Our Sunday School classes are community focused, mission minded and totally love to study the Bible. We encourage everyone to be a part of a class since we all need this discipleship, accounability, and community. All of our classes have their own flavor. Some are led by teachers, others are conversational. Some are age and gender specific and others are open to anyone interested. Come be a part of one of our classes!
What type of church is FBC Pinson?
Simply put, we're a church that seeks to follow Christ in everything we do. We cherish community, Scripture, and worship and we hope that is evident in our gatherings. More broadly, we're a part of the Southern Baptist Convention. Click HERE for more information on the SBC. HERE is some information about what we believe if your intrested.
What are the Services like?
We love to worship together! We worship thorugh song, Scripture, self-giving, and teaching. We will usually start our gatherings with relevant, theologically sound, congregational singing. Our Contemporary Service tends to use more modern songs and some great reimagined hymns led by a band and multiple singers. Our Traditional Service incorporates traditional hymns and older praise choruses led by our Sanctuary Choir.
We generally read a lot of Scripture and we will occasionally do some responsive readings and other creative elements to help portray the truths of the Gospel. Following our congregational worship time in both of our services is a dynamic, Bible-laden message from our Pastor.
